Street Without End cycle
2018–2024ID: C10
The cycle Street Without End reflects on the unrealized Soviet utopia through the city of Navapolack – the youngest city in Belarus, built beside the ancient Polack. Using footage from the 1972 Belarusfilm movie filmed during the city’s construction, Shabohin removes the human figures, turning them into spectral presences drifting through empty streets and unfinished structures. The work explores the tension between progress and oblivion, between industrial modernity and historical depth, revealing the city as a post-utopian landscape where memory survives in the ruins of its own future.
