Border-Gap cycle
Since 2018ID: C11
The cycle Border-Gap examines migration, bureaucracy, and the politics of crossing. Emerging from the artist’s personal experience of obtaining a Pole’s Card after emigrating from Belarus to Poland, it explores the border as both a physical and symbolic system that defines identity through documents and control. Combining documentary observation, performative gestures, and institutional critique, the project reveals how power operates through papers, fences, and humanitarian crises. From cutting a canvas with a Pole’s Card to the Seven-pointed Green Star of solidarity, Border-Gap turns the border into a site where legality, empathy, and resistance intertwine.
