Mandrake Gardens cycle
Since 2020ID: C14
The cycle Mandrake Gardens explores cruising landscapes as spaces of queer desire and resistance. Based on a two-channel video juxtaposing Berlin’s Hasenheide Park and the Peoples’ Friendship Park in Minsk in 2020, it contrasts the ecstasy of queer raves with the political energy of protests. Expanding to cruising zones in Berlin, Poznań, and Rome, the project forms a geography of twilight spaces where bodies and landscapes merge into a shared erotic and political ecology. Mandrake Gardens reimagines the mandrake myth as a metaphor of rebirth, turning nature into an archive of freedom.
