Slideshow
ST()RE #15: Greenhouse Conditions
From the cycle ST()RE
2019
8’20”
The double slideshow, created in 2019, predates the pandemic, war, and other disasters (the project was ironically titled Greenhouse Conditions at that time), as well as the establishment of the artist's first studio. At that time, the studio was a computer, and the slideshow documents the processes and explorations, archives, and images created under greenhouse conditions.

In Minsk, men meet in public restrooms, leaving notes on the walls. However, due to censorship and the extreme sterility of public spaces, the writings were quickly erased by cleaning services, prompting men to begin writing and drawing their messages in the gaps between tiles. This serves as an example of both an archive of dirty slang and an illustration of the social grid.

A model of a sickle passes through the model of the coffin in which Kazimir Malevich was buried. It is also an image of a crack/cut in the form of Soviet terror, which tragically influenced Malevich's fate and his legacy.
Idea, modeling: Sergey Shabohin. Modeling and 3D printing: Roman Shabohin

On the reverse side of the white-red-white flag, a six-colored rainbow flag of the LGBTQA+ movement has been attached using multicolored threads. This piece is a manifesto asserting that the fight for freedom encompasses freedom for all. The colorful stitches show through on the flag, symbolizing the inseparability of both proclaimed demands. It is the only piece in this installation that features bright colors.
